Now, as for the part about someone taking your work and using it - that's just plain wrong, and stealing in my opinion. Are you saying you have no recourse? No way to prove what you've typed here? Maybe draft a letter to the book publisher, and if the author is a scholar, send something to the institution. Just be careful and present the facts and whatever you can to back yourself up.
