My boyfriend is currently working for an excavating company, who is hurting for business right now. He is a pipe layer, and has only been working a couple days a week when he is supposed to be working fulltime. He has been a pipe layer (water, sanitary, storm) for 5 years now, and needs to find a new fulltime job that works all year round. We can’t afford to have him laid off in the winters anymore, we just had a baby. What other jobs could he do, that will pay close to what he is making from laying pipe ($17.50/hr). Is there a union in Indianapolis that he could join that would be similar to what he is doing. He is looking for a career change, please help.

Try warehouse jobs – they will not start at his current wage but he can at least score a job and maybe some benefits.
The only pipeline co I can think of is Miller Pipeline – has he tried there? They are on the west side of Indy
